MANILA, Philippines — Pop singer and actress Miley Cyrus is as excited as fans for the 20th anniversary of the Disney show “Hannah Montana.”

The series launched Miley as a Disney star, paving the way for her music and acting career, which is still thriving for the 32-year-old.

Miley sat down for an interview with Chris Olsen on SiriusXM’s “TikTok Radio,” show where she brought up the 20th “Hannahversary.”

“I want to design something really, really special for it because it really was the beginning of all this that now sits here today,” Miley said, acknowledging her showbiz beginnings.

Miley initially viewed the titular character as someone “impossible to shed,” but acknowledges it as a nostalgic pop culture reference.

Chris agreed. The host shared that he performed Hannah’s song, “Life’s What You Make It,” for a talent show in his elementary school, complete with a blonde wig.

“Hannah Montana” ran for four seasons from 2006 to 2011. The popular Disney franchise released a 2009 movie where Miley’s character, also named Miley, lived a double life as fictional pop star Hannah Montana.

Co-starring with Miley were Emily Osment, Mitchel Musso, Jason Earles, and her real-life father, Billy Ray Cyrus, playing a fictional version of himself. — Video from SiriusXM’s YouTube channel
